Led by Mr. Lei Ip Fei of Conselho do Património Cultural and Resident Fellow Dr. Andrew Lao of Henry Fok Pearl Jubilee College (HFPJC), a total of 12 people visited Ilha Verde on 19 October 2019. Through the impressive introduction by Mr. Lei, with a total of two hours’ hiking in woods, both the teacher and students had an unforgettable experience on such historical place for military. They also understood the difficulties on the environmental protection, including the overgrown weeds and branches and mosquitos. Accordingly, there needs a proper plan for reusing the place due to the population growth.
This is a follow-up activity where Mr. Lei Ip Fei was invited to give a talk at HFPJC. It aims to let more students to have deeper experiences to the environment protection of Ilha Verde, and it also aims to strengthen the student’s knowledge for historical heritages in Macau.
