During the camp, members from both colleges visited the UNESCO World Heritage Historic Centre of Macau, where they gained an understanding of Macao’s unique historical and cultural heritage. They also explored revitalization projects in Taipa and Cotai, aiming to understand how to strike a balance between urban development and the preservation of natural ecology and historic districts. Through these field trips and exchanges, students gained a profound appreciation for the importance of harmonious development between cities, history, and nature. They also learned about the significance of protecting the ecological environment and preserving cultural heritage in the context of tourism development.

During the Closing Ceremony, the students engaged in in-depth discussions on topics such as the relationship between the tourism industry and environmental protection, the preservation of cultural heritage, and the development of tourism infrastructure. They presented their perspectives and innovative ideas. The visiting members also shared their experiences in the sustainable development of tourism in Xi’an and provided recommendations for the development of Macau as a global tourism and leisure center.

The study camp provided valuable learning and exchange opportunities for students from Xi’an and Macau, fostering understanding and friendship between the two Colleges. The participating students expressed that through this exchange and field visits, they gained a deeper understanding of the residential college system at the University of Macau and learned about Macau’s practices and innovations in sustainable tourism. These experiences laid a foundation for further exchanges and collaborations between the two Colleges in areas such as college development and practical innovation.
